Ajay is the Asia Pacific Regional Director for YouTube at Google based in Singapore. He has worked closely with some of the region's biggest broadcasters and motion picture companies, helping them partner with YouTube on their their digital video strategy. Ajay spent over fourteen years at STAR Television in India playing a key leadership role and making tremendous contributions: from leading STAR PLUS, STAR ONE, Channel [V], Star Vijay, Marketing, to its content and new media division. His achievements include Channel [V]'s launch of a youth platform, launch of Star's Interactive business in India and the launch of STAR network into South India. Ajay also spearheaded the launch of Kaun Banega Crorepati (the Indian version of "Who wants to be a Millionaire") to record among the highest rated TV show launches in Indian television history in 2006. Shortly before joining Google, Ajay acted as Chief Operating Officer of Sun Network.
In the previous IDByte 2015, we explored the theme of “Connected e-Conomy”, as we acknowledged how the world is increasingly shrinking as we get connected to each other via the internet. We also addressed the trend of globalization and we explored who Indonesia can be more than just a market. In IDByte, our vision is to put Indonesia on the global digital map, and for Indonesia to become a strong, digital player.
Indonesia is filled with talented individuals and innovative businesses – our challenge now is to get our talents recognized internationally. We explored how Indonesia’s digital potential could drive growth and development for various industries in Indonesia. IDByte 2015 had invited prominent speakers such as John Lagerling, VP Business Development of Facebook; Brian McWilliams, Head of Analytics, Disney Research Zurich; amongst many other leaders from the tech industry, as well as the public sector.
